How to Join a Greek Organization

How to Join a Greek Organization
To join a fraternity or sorority, you must go through recruitment, which is sometimes called "rush" or "intake."

Before you go through recruitment, join other campus organizations, meet Greeks from APSU’s different chapters and let them know you are interested in going Greek.  Also, be sure to keep your grades up!  Your grades and campus activities will affect your recruitment.

Recruitment Processes
APSU is home to fraternities and sororities governed by three different councils:

  • Interfraternity Council (IFC) governs fraternities.  Recruitment takes place at the start of every semester.
  • Panhellenic Council (PC) governs sororities and women’s fraternities.  New members are recruited at the start of the fall semester.
  • National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) governs historically African American fraternities and sororities.  Member intake occurs at various times throughout the year and is advertised on fliers labeled "Interest Meeting," "Interest Tea," "Meet N Greet" or "Informational."

Explore each individual councils' new member processes by clicking on the links. You can also access registration forms on the councils' pages.
